“Never has there been a time that energy, and specifically power, has had such an important role to play in the world.
“Barely a day goes by without the impact of climate change being seen, heard or felt. At the same time, our power needs are expected to double by 2050, as sectors such as transport and heating electrify, and as our economies become increasingly data driven. Industrial clusters which are the backbone of many economies, need to find ways to abate to protect jobs and drive growth as we transition to net zero.
“Ensuring energy security to power the economy while we decarbonise is therefore vital.
“It requires us to overcome many challenges and find many solutions. While there is no silver bullet to the energy transition, there are new solutions on the horizon. The key is to seize those opportunities as they are presented to us so we continue to make progress.”
