Blackburn is a 60MW combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT) plant in Lancashire. It is designed to provide vital power to northwest England’s manufacturing area.

About Blackburn

Operational since 2001, the plant was originally launched as a combined heat and power (CHP) facility to serve a local papermill, which closed in 2008. Since then, the plant has continued to operate as a strategic grid asset for the region and is capable of powering over 60,000 homes.
