Lumcloon

Lumcloon is a battery energy storage plant in Ireland that is designed to support grid stability.

About Lumcloon

Commissioned in 2021 alongside the Shannonbridge battery energy storage facility, the Lumcloon plant plays an important role in stabilising the grid as we increase the level of renewables in our energy system.

Battery storage is recognised as critical infrastructure for the energy transition and road to net zero by enabling the grid to run well, reducing price volatility and managing congestion and shortfalls of power on the grid.

Additional renewable generation assets nearby to the Lumcloon and Shannonbridge sites are already in the pipeline.
