VPI is constructing a 299MW open cycle gas turbine plant at Immingham to provide additional low-carbon flexible generation capacity for the region.

About VPI B

VPI B will use fully flexible Open Cycle Gas Turbine (OCGT) technology to quickly provide grid stability and reliable power when the system needs it.

The plant has also been designed to be hydrogen-ready when levels reach industrial capacity, ensuring that the site is future-proofed for long term sustainability.

Construction of the plant started in late 2023 with commercial operation expected in 2026.
