Shannonbridge

Shannonbridge is a 100MW battery energy storage plant in Ireland that has been designed to support local grid stability.

About Shannonbridge

Commissioned in 2021 alongside the Lumcloon battery energy storage facility, the Shannonbridge plant plays an important role in stabilising the grid as renewables expand.

Battery storage is recognised as critical infrastructure for the energy transition and road to net zero by helping to manage congestion, reduce price volatility and shortfalls of power on the grid.

Additional renewable generation assets nearby to the Lumcloon and Shannonbridge sites are already in the pipeline.
